Specific Responsibilities:

We are seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join the laser process team in our Fremont fab. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of semiconductor wafer and back end process tools. You will maintain and support process tool capability in our growing, state of the art laser fab


  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and service of semiconductor equipment used for both production and engineering in a cleanroom environment.
  • First line of support in; test, diagnostic, troubleshooting and solving down-time issues
  • Work with engineers and manufacturing with set up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting and or following procedures.
  • Assist with quality programs; both sustaining as well as in preparation for major audits or certifications.
  • Safety conscious and able to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain parts and spares inventories.

Experience and Skills:



Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years industry experience in equipment maintenance in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
  • Experience with several of the following tools: EPI, PECVD, E-beam, sputter, lithography tools such as steppers and aligners, metrology tools such as ellipsometer and profilometers. Die bonders, wire bonders, plasma cleaners and hermetic packaging and wet processing tools.
  • Experience in a quality certified environment, i.e. ISO9001, 5S, 8D, lean six sigma a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, self-driven, with the flexibility to work independently or under general guidance or direction.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • May be asked to participate as a member of the ERT (Emergency Response Team)
  • Maintain certifications for response to emergencies (HAZCOM, HAZOPER, FIRST-AID, CPR, ERT, ETC.) as required.
  • Able to properly use safety equipment to analyze risks and emergencies (SCBA, Respirator, Drager, MST Gas Leak Detection, etc.)

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to receive medical clearance for a respirator.
